Leslie Edwards is an artist living and working in New York City. Since 2018, Leslie has been in the midst of a career change, leaving her 15-year career in art sales to create art of her own. She found refuge at the Art Students League of New York where she studied portraiture with the celebrated painter, Sharon Sprung.
In addition to oil painting, Leslie recently began exploring a variety of new mediums for her mixed-media collages. She is engaged in unique transfer methods and printmaking techniques. Leslie is also incorporating the ancient practice of encaustic and a brand-new medium called alcohol ink. Combining many layers of cut paper in unexpected ways creates a striking, and at times, rawness that captivates the artist.
In 2022, Leslie won the George A. Rada Memorial Scholarship at the Art Students League of New York. Most recently, Leslie’s work has been featured in several group shows, including Guild Hall Artist Members Exhibition in the fall of 2023 at Guild Hall Museum in East Hampton, NY.
